I've been a long distance runner for about 5 years. I'm an 18 year old guy. 5'6" and 120 pounds. I look skinny, but I've got muscle too and very less fat. I was 150 when I was 12 years old. Very overweight.
I started out with track. I was a slowpoke. Always in dead last. Can't expect a fatso to win races huh.
Then I began to prioritize my running. Did at least 5 days of running. Also did light weights on my resting days. It was very tough. Running is not easy when you start. It hurts real bad. You get sore for a few days. But after the first few weeks, you begin to just love running. You can't live without it. When I started running, I just wanted to lose weight and get it over with. But even after losing all the extra weight, I kept running. Its so amazing. Now I'm not asking you to keep running the rest of your life like I plan to do. But if you give it a shot, I can guarantee that you won't regret it. I always thought running is sort of like sex to a woman. It hurts real bad the first few times and you hate it! And after that it gets so amazing that you just can't live without it.

People don't know when to stop eating. You have to realize when your full. To do this, concentrate when you eat. Eat slowly, chew well, drink a lot of water. Do not eat when watching t.v, reading the newspaper or having a discussion. Your mind must be focused on eating. Only then will you know when to stop. This is exactly what I used to do when I was losing weight and still do.
