38.5 weeks pregnant, sharp shooting "electric shock" pain in cervix area.?
I had these sharp electric shock type of pain in my cervix area about 5 times in a 10 minute period earlier tonight. They were so strong that they actually made me say "ouch ouch ouch!" out loud a few times. Feels like baby is stabbing me in there!
Last time doc checked, I was dilated 2 cm and 50% effaced. That was last Thursday. I've had Braxton Hicks very often for the past month, but nothing regular yet.
Any ideas what the pain might be?

Answer:
I had a similar pain with my first, it was him punching my cervix. The pain will only go away with delivery.
If you want to look at it a funny way, your baby is trying to stick his or her hand out to see if it's warm enough to come out yet, lol.
